Global Executive MBA | 2018
I am a little bit of a lot of things—unbelievably funny (often intentional), a hardcore generalist, corporate MacGyver, and self-proclaimed 'hippie in a business suit' to name a few. But the one thing I am the most proud of is being a finisher of the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) class of 2018.
To some, this may seem very put together. But truthfully, it's happened after over a 15-year period that featured a tiny bit of smart work combined with a lot of fortunate accidents and failing forward. These 15 years were invested in a wide cross section of roles and industries including casinos and hotels, large-scale concerts and events, and online media and broadcast.
I am deeply excited about business and startups in particular, and I believe they are key to solving fundamental problems in society. The GEMBA program at Fuqua was a game-changer for me both personally and professionally. It really helped open my eyes to all the opportunity that exists behind every obstacle humanity faces. And that is exactly why I ended up quitting my job less than 30 days after the conclusion of the program to pursue building Lokyatha. My vision there is to build a life-skills education platform that will enable young adults to better navigate this complex world.
When I am not busy convincing myself that I should work out more often, I am either lost miles deep down an Entrepreneur.com or Wikipedia rabbit-hole researching the human condition or simply binge-watching TED and Netflix. If it's not one of those, then I am most definitely convincing my lovely wife Chitra that I really AM that funny, and she should stop rolling her eyes so much if she wants the headaches to end. Literally, minutes after I am done with this bio, I intend to continue reading Derren Brown's book Happy: Why More or Less Everything is Absolutely Fine.
