As I reflect on my path to Duke, I recognize that this experience is a culmination of years and years of work. This has grounded me in the present, allowing me to celebrate and reflect on who and where I am in the moment.

Looking back, I feel that those intense weeks of travel and networking helped me become a better investment banking candidate.

Getting an internship in tech was no easy journey, even with a tech background.

When I was applying to business schools, I knew that one of the main reasons I was getting an MBA was to pivot into marketing.

Now that I had established consulting as my clear recruiting direction, I decided to work diligently on three fronts related to the interview process: case interviews, behavioral interviews, and mental preparedness.

When I got my admission to Fuqua, I was not even considering becoming a consultant. To be honest, I did not even know what a consultant does.

My decision to pursue an MBA at Duke came during a critical moment in March 2020, working on the frontlines of the pandemic as a nurse in a makeshift intensive care unit for COVID patients.

As a 12-year veteran of Fuqua’s Career Management Center and a Daytime MBA alumnus myself, I take great pride in how we support our students’ career searches. Throughout the program, we help students navigate recruiting while also preparing them for the career journey they’ll experience years after graduation.

As an international student living in the U.S. for the first time, it was really challenging to recruit for a job as the process was new to me.

With the support from the Fuqua community, students in the Class of 2022 from Greater China achieved a strong recruiting performance.
