Looking Forward to my “Winternship”

MMS students get about a 4-week winter break. A lot of students use that time to do an internship. We call these “Winternships” …

I found my Winternship through a curator/professor who I worked for earlier this year. A lot of students find Winternships on their own like me, but Fuqua’s Career Management Center also does a lot of work to facilitate these internships and provide options for students.

I’m going to work in London for my Winternship! I’ll be a marketing intern at a gallery. I don’t have all the details yet, but I was told that I’m going to work on the Samsung Art+ Awards. I don’t have a lot of art experience, but this position is going to focus more on technology and the visual arts, so as a big fan of anything high-tech, I’m excited to be a part of this project.

I start the job this week, so I’ll elaborate later about what I’m doing and how I’ll use the winter break to pursue my career goals. I think it’ll be a great experience. Wish me luck!
