One of the best ways to get to know a new place is through its food.

As someone who needs a cup of coffee to get the day started and loves the sounds of café when studying or catching up with friends, coffee shops are my favorite way to get a read on a city.

Before arriving in Durham I’m pretty sure my first Google Maps search was “Best food in Durham.” I am a passionate foodie, a two-year Yelp Elite member, and lover of all things boba.

Here are my brunch recommendations for places with delicious menus as well as good atmospheres where you can start your weekend off on a delightful note

Urban Axes in downtown Durham is the perfect venue for competitive ax-throwing and might be the most unique activity on the list.

Moving somewhere new can be daunting, but the key to overcoming your fears is finding a few fantastic places where you feel at home. I’ve compiled a list of my own favorite places that I’ve discovered here in Durham.

When looking into graduate school options, one does not usually take into account the caliber of the area’s food. However, when looking at Duke, food should definitely factor into your decision!
