I built my career in the financial industry, specializing in insurance. After getting my Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri, I landed my first role in commercial lines underwriting at Liberty Mutual Insurance. From there I hit the books, getting my Associate Underwriting and Charter Property Casualty Underwriting designations from The Institutes—essentially a master’s degree in commercial insurance.
After completing this first set of educational programs, and getting promoted, I set my sights on getting an MBA. My journey started at Northeastern University where I got a Master of Science in Innovation, a program that changed my life and made me realize my full potential. I then shifted industries to project and people management in IT at Clean Harbors.
With guidance from one of my professors, I looked at getting an MBA from a school that would push my way of thinking. Duke’s Global Executive MBA was the program that I knew would propel my career to the next level. The program changed my perspective, made me reassess what ‘happiness’ in my career was. and gave me a new outlook on business, government, culture and life.
I’m currently working as a solutions engineer in financial services at Salesforce in Boston, building education around insurance, customer relationships and product specialization.
