The India and Pakistan Independence Day celebration event enabled me to meet the individuals who are presently my closest friends in the MQM program.

I have always been passionate about engaging in extracurricular activities and serving in whatever community I find myself.

I knew the words Fuqua and Friday, but separately, not as a term “Fuqua Friday.”

Signing a lease for an apartment without seeing it, in a city you have never lived might sound like a daunting task and let me be honest with you, it is. So, here is the brief version of how I ended up staying where I did.

I didn't know that everyone is alone together. hough that may sound a bit existential, I soon realized that I wasn’t the only one in the program who left everything behind to attend Duke in hopes of building a better life.

I got my acceptance from Fuqua in December 2018, and by the beginning of 2019, I had made up my mind about spending the next year of my life in Durham, North Carolina.

My time abroad and at graduate school at Duke has been a journey of self-discovery, self-love, making family out of strangers, and finding home in new places.

While a lot of studying can be done in the convenient Fuqua team rooms and library, I believe that it is important to venture beyond our walls and take advantage of the beautiful spots in Durham and the great things the larger Duke campus has to offer
