I am the inaugural Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). My principal responsibility is to realize the Allies’ vision for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in support of NATO’s purpose of safeguarding freedom and security for its 32 member nations. In addition to facilitating ICT coherence across NATO’s 50+ civil and military bodies with 25,000 users, I also perform a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) function as the Single Point of Authority for cybersecurity.

Prior to NATO, I directed all global computing and information technology systems for Sierra Wireless in Vancouver, Canada. I’ve also held leadership positions at Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas.

I hold an MBA from Duke University, a Master of Science (MSc) degree in business and management research, and a doctorate in business administration from the University of Reading, UK.
