I’m a naturally curious person who genuinely enjoys the process of learning. That mindset has shaped my educational and professional journey, taking a few unexpected and interesting turns. I earned my first degree in agriculture with a minor in business, and one of the highlights from that chapter was a memorable stint working at Walt Disney World.
Later, I returned to school to study accounting and earn my CPA. Over the past 10 years, I’ve held a variety of corporate accounting roles, beginning in public accounting and eventually moving into healthcare finance. I recently stepped into a new role as Finance Director at UAB Medicine, the top health care system in Alabama.
I approach problems by breaking down complex ideas into smaller, manageable parts, which is what initially drew me to Fuqua’s MSQM program. The most rewarding part of the experience was the people. Everyone I met was not only sharp and accomplished but also genuinely kind. I always felt like I was learning alongside people who wanted the best for each other. If I had the chance to go through the program again, I’d do it in a heartbeat.
My wife and I have four kids, ages 3 to 13, so life is rarely quiet but always full. When we’re not heading to practices, games, or recitals, we love a good road trip. Whether it’s a quick getaway or a longer drive, we enjoy finding new places and making memories together.
