As my time at Fuqua has ended, it’s given me the opportunity to reflect upon my journey. These past two years have been transformative and filled with invaluable experiences and memories. From building strong friendships to giving back to the community, I’ve expanded my horizons in ways I’ve never imagined.

Becoming a Leader in Diversity & Inclusion

One of my proudest moments was co-leading the Duke Association of Women in Business (AWIB). Managing a significant budget and organizing over 40 events for 400+ women and allies was a rewarding challenge. Some standout events included the Women’s Leadership Weekend for prospective women, the Investing in Women Conference featuring the CEO and CFO of e.l.f. Beauty, and our annual winter formal. These experiences, supported by our fantastic cabinet, made AWIB one of the largest organizations on campus.

In addition to AWIB, I was deeply involved in various other initiatives. As a teaching assistant, career fellow, admissions fellow, and consulting case parent, I had the privilege of supporting first-year students with and beyond their career goals while also interviewing prospective candidates. I also participated in the Daring Dialogues panels during Inclusion Week and served on the Gender Equity Working Group’s sexual misconduct eradication committee, advocating for meaningful change.

Diving Deeper Into My Interests

Furthermore, my involvement with the Luxury Brands Club allowed me to contribute to the Sustainability in Fashion conference during my first year, further fueling my passion for the luxury industry. Which leads me to my next standout experience of studying abroad at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy. This opportunity allowed me to delve into luxury management, travel across Europe, and connect with new classmates globally. The exposure to different cultures and business practices enriched my understanding and appreciation of the global luxury market.

Moreover, my mentored study at AAVRANI, a science-backed skin and haircare company, was another highlight of my second year. Always fascinated by the world of luxury and beauty, I leveraged my network to intern under Jasmine Johnson. This experience deepened my understanding of the skincare industry, where I recommended new products for future launches, blending Ayurvedic traditions with modern skincare needs.

Over the past two years, I’ve traveled to nine countries, networked with countless accomplished individuals, and challenged myself academically. These experiences broadened my horizons, enhanced my quantitative skills, and prepared me for the next chapter of my career.

As I look forward to starting my new role as a senior strategy consultant at Deloitte in NYC, I am filled with gratitude. The lessons learned and the connections made at Duke Fuqua will continue to inspire and shape my professional journey. Go Blue Devils!
