Before Fuqua: I was born in Iran, and lived there for 5 years before moving to Dubai, where I was raised. After college, I worked for 10 years in the industrial supplies market in the Middle East across sales, marketing, and operations. As an electrical engineer and entrepreneur, who had attained practical business skills, I realized that without a firm business foundation, I cannot progress further in my career, thus decided to come to back to school.
At Fuqua: I am currently a first-year student challenging myself every day to balance studies, club activities, recruiting, and family commitments. Yes, I am here with my spouse and 3-year-old daughter. I am concentrating in marketing and strategy, and I am also a cabinet member of the Duke MBA Retail Club and International Business Club.
Outside Fuqua: I quickly fell in love with all the natural beauties every corner of Durham has to offer. I would rather sacrifice an hour of study than to miss a weekend park visit, and I enjoy playing golf at Duke University Golf Club. The last book I read was “Never Eat Alone.” I also strive to be on top of technology trends.
I will be writing about special events at Fuqua, family life in Durham, international student’s transitions, and many more topics. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions about Duke, Durham, international transitions, and family life during an MBA.
