I may be one of the few native North Carolinians in my diverse cohort of classmates from around the world. Nonetheless, I’ve loved living in the great 'Dogwood State' for all of my 33 well-lived years. In that time, I also had the chance to serve my country for 10 years as a Green Beret, or Special Forces soldier, based out of Ft. Bragg, NC.

Now based out of Chapel Hill—the home of that other school with a nationally-ranked basketball team—I’m blessed to attend Fuqua in the Daytime MBA program while my wife attends said other institution of higher learning as a Master of Political Science candidate.

When I started my search for the institution that would facilitate my pivot from military to business, and share my appreciations for a cross-cultural working environment, a curriculum designed with an emphasis on teamwork, and extracurricular activities spanning a wide range of interests, Fuqua was at the top of my list. Even still, I tried to remain unbiased during my admissions research, but once I arrived on campus for the open interview period I was sold. From the culture to the teachers—who can make accounting interesting at 9:00 a.m. on a Monday—I was all in.

As of Spring, 2016, my wife and I have both accepted full-time job offers from top-five consulting firms in the Denver area. Jess and I are excited about the move but both a little sad that we now have a definitive end to our academic careers at UNC and Duke, respectively.

A Few Fun Facts

  1. I am an exhibited commercial and fine art photographer—you can check out my site to see some examples.
  2. One of the most satisfying events I’ve had the pleasure of putting on was a networking event at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park over the Fourth of July holiday where many of my international classmates—having just arrived in the U.S.—got to experience baseball, fireworks and quintessential American cuisine. After putting this event on for the Class of 2017 and 2018, Fuqua has now made this a tradition and will continue to put it on for the Class of 2019 and beyond!
  3. I’m a recently certified scuba diver, AND I LOVE IT! :-)
  4. Some of my classmates and I were profiled by Poets & Quants.
