As the clock rushes towards the end of classes on Fridays, students across Fuqua get a little excited to head over to the Fox Center...it’s Fuqua Friday!

After being away from the university environment for five years, I missed that feeling of being a part of something greater than myself.

Here are some of the key takeaways and my thoughts from the 2021 employment report on what’s behind the shifts and trends.  

Within Fuqua’s Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital Club, we are focused on so much more than just that stereotypical tech entrepreneur (though we have some of those, too).

Companies from different industries come to Fuqua’s campus with fascinating challenges, so I was very intentional when handpicking just a few of them to participate in, focusing on gaining exposure to industries I was genuinely interested in.

I came to business school to learn how to make the business case for taking action on climate change, and my time as a CASE i3 Fellow offered a remarkable opportunity to apply what I’d learned to the real world.

Before coming to business school, I worked in the largest bank in Brazil. Choosing to enroll at the Fuqua School of Business, my goals were to achieve hands-on experience at a company where tech was the core business.

I knew that the prospect of landing a career in venture capital (VC) was risky, given the limited job openings but it was a risk I was ready to take.

School fit was an essential criterion when evaluating which school would be the best choice for me. Thus, attending the Workshop was a crucial step in my search process. Throughout the weekend, I was able to get a real sense of Fuqua’s overall community.

I had heard how fast time flies once school starts, but it only really registered in mid-December while I was walking out from my last exam of the term. Time and tide wait for no man, but man did I wish I had known a few things before the craziness came and went.
