Here at Fuqua, students can choose to take on leadership roles at the beginning of their respective programs. The Master of Management Studies program is no different.

All students, both from the Foundations of Business (MMS: FOB) and the Duke Kunshan University (MMS: DKU) groups can, if they choose to, nominate themselves for the available positions. Elections are held early in the program and those selected the student leadership group knows as the MMS Association (MMSA).

The available positions for the MMS Class of 2016 are the following:

  • Co-Presidents of the MMS: FOB program
  • President of the MMS: DKU program (the rest of the student leaders for DKU are selected upon arriving on campus in Kunshan)
  • Culture and Norms Representatives (2 positions, one for each section, Blue & White)
  • Activity Chair
  • Communications Chair
  • Career Chair (2 positions, one for a domestic student and one for an international student)

These current positions reflect some slight changes from what was in place for my Class of 2015. The titles might have changed in some cases, but the duties are very similar. I interviewed some of my classmates in the MMSA so that you could gain some insight into how they supported Fuqua and assisted students throughout their duration of studies. So let’s hear from them in the following Q&As:
