What Fuqua Has Meant to My Personal Growth
I am deeply grateful to Fuqua for being such an important part of my life.
When I started the MMS program back on July 18, 2022, little did I realize that time is relative and 10 months could be a short time. Today as I am writing my final blog as a Fuqua student, the feeling hit hard and it dawned upon me what they meant when they said, “10 months will go by in a blink.”
Fuqua gave me memories I can’t even express in words. I made Durham and Fuqua my homes for these 10 months. Let me be honest, it wasn’t just a bed of roses, a lot of thorns were involved as well. But these thorns are the shaping factors in my life and they have helped me come out stronger in every situation. My perspectives towards life have changed and I truly thank Fuqua for helping me grow. Fuqua has helped me become a better and a more confident person than before. It showed me a lot of things I had never seen or heard of before and molded me into a true Blue Devil.
The most important thing, however, is the family it has given me for a lifetime. My experience would have been incomplete if I hadn’t met these wonderful people. Fuqua gave me a wide network, not only from MMS but from the MQM and Daytime MBA programs as well. As I talked to my fellow Fuqua mates, I tried to embrace different cultures which was perhaps my biggest learning here as I continuously moved out of my comfort zone. I am glad to have had the opportunity to make friends that I know will be there for me in all phases of my life. We might not be able to see each other every day like we do now but I know they’re just a phone call away. Fuqua has truly given me my “favorite hellos and hardest goodbyes.”
Essential to my personal growth, Fuqua is the embodiment of who I am today. The entire experience of living independently gave me a chance to discover who I am and what I want to achieve. It gave me an opportunity to explore different ideas and the confidence to implement them. I also gained an insight into the bigger world that has truly made me ready for all walks of life. It showed me the true spirit of Fuqua Family which I will hold close to me no matter where I go. I am deeply grateful to Fuqua for being such an important part of my life and for giving me memories to look back at and rejoice upon. In conclusion I would say, “Once a Blue Devil, always a Blue Devil.”
Thank you, Fuqua. Cheers to these amazing 10 months and an eternity of learning!
