I am a southern girl with a close connection to the Atlantic Coast Conference, of which Duke is a member. I grew up in a small town in Virginia called Abingdon. Following in the footsteps of my Wahoo-loving family, I attended the University of Virginia. I double-majored in Economics and Sociology, with a special interest in consumerism and the personal rationale behind purchasing decisions. In order to focus my broad undergraduate interests, I knew a graduate program in business would be the logical next step. I am thrilled to start my graduate studies at the Fuqua School of Business and I look forward to applying my theoretical undergraduate education to my new business school classes (it is still unclear, however, which team I will cheer for in the ACC Basketball Tournament this year).

I have always loved traveling. During the summer of 2012, I studied, toured, and ate my way through the Mediterranean. I visited Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Portugal, Turkey, and Morocco aboard Semester at Sea’s MV Explorer. Decidedly bit by the travel bug, I took an internship in Dublin, Ireland, during the summer of 2013 working with the Restaurants Association of Ireland.

I have a passion for experiencing new cultures and understanding new people. The vast diversity of Fuqua was one of the most appealing aspects of the MMS program. I am also a foodie at heart and I have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the diverse culinary side of Durham. I look forward to sharing my experiences at Fuqua with you!
