I'm a member of the MQM: BA Class of 2018 in the Strategy track.
I was born in Varanasi, India, and did most of my schooling in Kolkata. After my undergraduate study in computer science & engineering at VIT University, Vellore, I worked at Mu Sigma, a leading decision sciences firm in Bangalore.
My desire to pursue a graduate program in business analytics, particularly MQM, was seeded during my work experience as a decision scientist. To analyze intertwined problem webs from the lens of business, technology, and mathematics was both thrilling and enlightening. The drive to constantly complement business decisions with well-modeled simulations and predictions always drew my curiosity. The art of problem definition, completeness in building, and testing hypotheses is a skillset I aim to strengthen.
In the short term, I seek to work within an ecosystem that is seeking to climb the learning curve of data science, as I would be able to leverage my professional background and academic skillset to accelerate their analytical learning and business development. This experience would also help me internalize the skills I have added to my repertoire over the last few years. However, in the long term, I seek to start an analytics solutions company that leverages the intersection of data science, law, and neuroscience to provide data auditing solutions to both private firms and governments alike.
Outside of my academic and professional aspirations, I'm a very social person. I love discussing culture, history, and experiences. Stand-up comedy, music, and dance are activities I sincerely pursue. While most of my sporting activities have faded during recent years, I actively follow my favorite soccer team, Barcelona, and aim to contribute professionally to their organization someday.
