I was born in a small coastal town called Portoviejo, Ecuador, and I immigrated to Toronto, Canada, at the age of three with my single mom (she’s my hero!). At 18, I left home again — this time heading to the U.S., where I found myself in engineering school at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Today, I’m a mechanical engineer and currently serve as an engineering manager at Trane Technologies, leading residential HVAC product development. My journey with Trane started back in college as an intern, and after graduation, I joined their Accelerated Development Program. That program took me across the country for 2.5 years, rotating through different business units and roles — each one shaping the engineer and leader I am today.
HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) has become more than a career — it’s a passion. It’s the kind of everyday luxury people rarely think about, until it’s not working. I’m driven by the challenge of product development and by helping high-performing technical teams bring innovative heating and cooling solutions to life.
Outside of work and school, you’ll usually find me chasing my red field golden, Zeppelin, around the yard (if you know, you know), or dragging my husband William Zinn (yes, another Fuqua student!) to Lowe’s for the next home renovation project.
