I grew up near Washington, DC, and my undergraduate degree was in government from the University of Virginia. Upon graduation, I accepted a position as a consultant with the operations strategy firm PRTM. After several years with the firm, I decided to return to school for my MBA – a bit of a different path for a politics nerd. While at PRTM, I was most excited about working for global companies navigating new markets or products. Fuqua provided the chance to explore these areas further and to focus on the subjects where I spent less time as an undergrad, like accounting and finance. After my first year at Fuqua, I interned with a middle market investment bank called McColl Partners in Charlotte, where I worked to help small businesses and private equity firms explore strategic options, such as a company sale or purchase. After graduating, I became a management consultant with PwC. I spend my weeks tethered to a laptop in various domestic airports, and live in Durham with my wife, Jackie, a blogger and second-year at Fuqua
