I grew up in Wakarusa, Indiana, and studied history at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. Prior to Fuqua, I worked in nonprofit fundraising at a sports-based youth development organization in Chicago and at a university in Washington, D.C.
I chose Fuqua because of the supportive and inclusive community I experienced while visiting as a prospective student during Pride Weekend, an LGBTQ+ recruiting event hosted by Admissions and the Fuqua Pride club. During my time as a student and as an alumnus, I hope to pay the kindness I experienced forward to other prospective students who are often underrepresented in business school. Academically, I am concentrating in marketing and strategy and plan to pursue a career in marketing in the health care industry.
Fuqua activities: I am the section representative for Section 6, serving as a connection between the student body and the administration. I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to be a voice for the needs of my classmates and help provide them with the best possible MBA experience. I hold cabinet positions in the Duke MBA Marketing Club, the Association of Women in Business Allies, and Fuqua Pride. During the 2020 election, I helped lead the “get out the vote” efforts as a first-year organizer for our Fuqua Votes initiative.
