Hello! My name’s Karen and I was born and raised in Northern Virginia in a Ghanaian household with three siblings. Prior to business school, I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for my undergraduate degree in business management and administration, and used what I learned there in my role as a District Manager for Aldi for 4 years. As fun and exciting as grocery retail is, I really wanted to branch out by finding a role that would allow me to travel, work on different projects, and take on various roles. This led me to the world of consulting.
At Fuqua, I am a member of the Business in Africa Club and the Black Business Student Association (BBSA), where I sit as one of the VPs of Admissions. I’m also an Admissions Fellow and a Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum (FCCP) Fellow this year.
Outside of school, you can typically find me at a coffee shop, spending time with my American Bully Dobie, watching trash reality TV shows, working out, listening to music, or doing a puzzle. I recently picked up running (had to join the bandwagon), and this year my goal is to expand my hobbies! I’m looking into pottery, thrift shopping, painting, and potentially looking into some dance classes! Any and all recommendations are welcomed.
