A Fashionable Celebration

Black History Month is celebrated by millions of people of color in the United States as a testament to the richness and diversity of black history and culture. In an effort to showcase our take on it, the MMS Black Student Association (BSA) organized a fashion show entitled “History. Repeating.”

The fashion show was held about a week ago and incorporated elements of African, Caribbean, and African American styles. The BSA chose to celebrate Black History Month through fashion because it’s a medium which everyone can relate to. In true Fuqua spirit, there was a great turnout from both the MMS and MBA programs. It was an awesome event, and I hope it’s only the first of many more to come.

Prior to coming to Fuqua, I worked for Google, in their Ghana office. My role focused on expanding the scope of the University Programs Initiative and assisting small and medium-sized businesses to leverage online tools to improve their businesses. As a result, I developed a strong interest in business strategy and business development in emerging markets.
