A Day in My Life at Duke Kunshan University
When I went back to Kunshan and started my spring semester at DKU, it felt familiar and strange at the same time.
Having already studied at Duke Kunshan University (DKU) for my undergraduate degree, it was a great pleasure to be admitted to the MMS: DKU program and experience life at both Fuqua’s Durham campus and DKU.
Life at Fuqua
Classes usually started at 8 a.m. I usually woke up at 6:40 a.m., dressed, and walked to Fuqua to start my day.
After morning classes, I ate lunch at the Fox Student Center at Fuqua or the nearby Brodhead Center on the larger Duke Campus.
In the afternoon, I sometimes spent time with my teammates to finish all the team assignments.
I really appreciated the harmonious atmosphere among all my team members. The MMS program does an excellent job of diversifying the team. We can become close friends with students from different backgrounds, and we can help each other to improve.
Life at DKU
When I went back to Kunshan and started my spring semester at DKU, it felt familiar and strange at the same time.
I usually take my online classes in my dormitory in the morning, and then I walk to school to have lunch in the dining hall.
After lunch, I go to my favorite place on campus, the Academic Building lobby, to study and prepare for the next day’s class. The lobby consists of different areas, including team rooms, study areas, a café, as well as relaxing areas with sofas and a piano. You can spend your whole afternoon there and not feel bored.
The facilities and services offered at DKU are amazing. We receive support to succeed both academically and physically.
Of course, there are many other great places to learn on the DKU campus. It is spring now, and the weather in Kunshan is pleasant and comfortable. When the weather gets warmer, I am looking forward to sitting under the blue umbrella beside the lake and enjoy the breeze and sunshine.
