Prior to Fuqua
Before beginning undergrad studies, I lived most of my life a short 20-minute drive away from Durham in Cary, North Carolina. I came to Duke and studied political science and classical civilizations during undergrad. Outside of the classroom, you could usually find me either on Koskinen field playing for the Duke Men's Soccer team, or hanging out with friends by my fraternity section on the main quad.
Why Fuqua and MMS?
For me, the opportunity to learn at Fuqua as a member of the MMS program was something I couldn't pass up. Since my experience as a merchandising intern at Abercrombie & Fitch, I've known that I wanted to pursue a professional career in business. Coming off of an enriching liberal arts undergrad experience, I knew I'd benefit from a year focused on obtaining a more complete understanding of business fundamentals. And between Fuqua's world-class professors, strong values, and comprehensive courses, I knew this was the environment where I wanted to learn and develop. I'm fired up to be here and can't wait to see what's in store. Go Duke!
In My Free Time
My bio would not be complete without mentioning my unwavering commitment to fantasy sports. Before websites had user-friendly formats and website platforms on which to play, my dad and I would create our own fantasy leagues. We used Excel spreadsheets, created our own rules, performed drafts, and recorded player stats throughout the year, ultimately leading to an end of season champion. Today I use website formats and compete in multiple fantasy Premier League (Soccer) leagues, as well as fantasy football (NFL) leagues. I'm a proud owner but I let my teams do the talking—whether it's 8, 10, or 12 team leagues, I'm all in.
