As a graphic designer, I've always been passionate about the intersection of art and technology.

As I decided to leave my full-time job and go to graduate school, one of the motivating factors to attend Fuqua was the opportunity to grow as a leader.

I initially joined Fuqua's MMS program for its business skills and prestigious education, but I found an incubator for student leaders, united by the Team Fuqua spirit.

Like many of the prospective students reading this who share my aversion to anything quant related, I was apprehensive about the idea of coming to business school.

My parents raised me to be a part of something bigger than myself.

I graduated from Fuqua’s MMS program back in 2017 and have been working and living in New York ever since. In those three years after MMS, I have been able to apply the business toolkit that I acquired here at Duke to my product marketing job.

Everyone’s career path and goals look different, but every Duke, Fuqua, and other resource I speak of in this article can definitely help you figure out yours in some way.

I found myself more excited than ever about my future career path. I had been exposed to consulting, which appeared to be a perfect fit. The field appeared to line up neatly with my skills and personality, however, one glaring issue still existed: I had absolutely no experience in the industry.

Fresh into the MMS program, I wanted an opportunity to hone my client-facing skills, while gaining hands-on consulting experience and I stumbled upon Duke Interdisciplinary Social Innovators.
