Duke MMS Student Blog
A Photo Story of My MMS Experience
What is a year like for an MMSer here at Duke and Fuqua? It is a unique and different experience for each person.
It can be described using millions of words. However, blogging best practices say it is better to stay within 800 words or less. Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words, then sorry for breaking the rule!
Here is the story of my MMS experience in photos:
MMS Orientation Week with my colleagues from Pakistan and Vietnam
The MMS welcome and program kickoff session in HCA Classroom
Scenes from Triangle Training Day, an event to help you form bonds with your teammates
Meanwhile, at a team room…
At the MMS Duke Basketball experience, we were trained by former Duke players (some of whom were in the NBA) and learned a lot about teamwork
The Duke Chapel is a great place to stroll around and relax after a hard-working day
MMS Student Association (MMSA) elections
Cameron Indoor Stadium’s atmosphere was amazing…no wonder why Duke won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship this year
Going on networking trips to big cities, such as Boston, is not uncommon
We had corporate recruiting events throughout the year
Intramural sporting events are also part of your Fuqua experience…here is our MMS soccer team
The Blue Devil took time to take a picture with me and MMS Program Director Steve Misuraca
Me and one of my teammates during the program, Andrew Gates, at a National Hockey League (NHL) game in the nearby city of Raleigh
I worked as an intramural official (soccer referee) during the academic year, and I enjoyed it a lot
A typical day in class
Fuqua is a multicultural community and this is symbolized by the dozens of flags in the main hallways
Before coming to the U.S., I only could enjoy The Cheesecake Factory restaurant via The Bing Bang Theory TV show
Many distinguished speakers came to Fuqua this year, including Hewlett-Packard (HP) CEO Meg Whitman
I celebrated this year’s Greek Easter away from my family, but close to the Greek Orthodox community in Durham
My friends and I had a lot dinners together
Our class experience was briefly summarized in the MMS 2015 yearbook
Graduation was just around the corner indeed
This year has been amazing. I was very lucky to be an MMS student. There are so many things one can do here that even when you think you have done them all, there’s always something new to do both on and off of Duke’s Campus.
Good luck to the new and future students!
