As I started to think about an Executive MBA program that would be the best fit for me, I knew I wanted an opportunity for connections with others.

It's a management and leadership phrase we hear often in our daily careers. This phrase has a deeper meaning—to re-evaluate our learned approach and acquire new skills. A Duke MBA offers an opportunity to learn and expand one's knowledge in order to propel one's career growth.

Now that my admissions experience is in the rearview and my transition back to school is complete, I wanted to write about my experience in the Weekend Executive MBA Program at The Fuqua School of Business. Here are my reflections on the most relevant parts of the experience so far.

Fuqua students have the opportunity to participate in memorable extracurricular activities that build upon the coursework and leadership skills that we learn here. Case competitions are one such example

I attended an open house and fell in love with the curriculum and warmth of the school community which motivated me to apply

I first attended Fuqua Around the World, the annual global networking and social event, back in 2016 when I was an admitted student. It exceeded my expectations.

Many decide to go back to school after realizing that in order to grow their careers in the long term, they need to make drastic changes today—develop new skills, grow their network and gain exposure to potential employers.
