I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. It is actually a lot like Durham, which is very convenient, as I grew up a “Dukie” at heart. Fun fact: I am actually the 22nd person in my family to go to Duke.
Prior to Fuqua
I recently received my undergraduate degree from, you guessed it, Duke University. There, I spread myself across a number of disciplines, as I majored in Spanish with a certificate in Markets and Management Studies and a minor in Visual and Media Studies.
While at Duke, I spent the majority of my time playing lacrosse for the Women’s Varsity Team. Outside of the classroom and off the lacrosse field, you could find me hanging out with friends or pursuing my interests in the visual and creative arts.
Why Fuqua and MMS?
To me, it is clear that Fuqua is the best business school in the country. When I learned about the opportunity to gain knowledge from this prestigious institution directly after undergrad, I jumped at it. From intern experiences in marketing and advertising, I knew I wanted to pursue a professional career in marketing. Although I enjoyed the diverse array of subjects I studied in college, I knew I could always use more knowledge of the business world. And why not stay another year rooting for Duke athletics right here at home?!
In My Free Time
As a recent graduate of a NCAA Division One athletics program, I am not used to having any free time. However, that does not mean I’m not enjoying it. In my down time I might be seen pursuing my interest in the visual arts, especially through printmaking. Lately, I can also be found writing and illustrating a children’s book about my family and my life growing up in a household of nine people. And while my old athletic habits seem to be dying hard, I might also be running, playing pick-up sports, or exploring the surrounding areas.
